Felipe Salinas

FCS CloseupI am a grant writer at The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA). Originally from Roma, Texas, I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. I also hold a Master's in Religious Education from the University of Dallas and a Master's in Communication from UTPA. My previous experience includes being a chemical engineer, parish and diocesan youth ministry coordinator, and university administrator. My wife, Cathy, and I have four adult children: Daniel, Ben, Rebecca, and Hannah, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 10 years old. Our family became active members of STJDA shortly after it was founded and continue to appreciate the important work that it does in the community, especially in reaching out to and supporting families of newly-diagnosed children and teens. We have all worked through together with Hannah the transition from elementary to middle school to high school, and now to college, as Hannah is a student at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. We are grateful to STJDA for helping Hannah prepare for this exciting new chapter in her life!
